Active Involvement in Charity

Several employees of GEBERA are amongst the ten members of Deloitte Düsseldorf's charity board, which decides upon donations in both cash and kind to charities involved with education in the broader sense. This has enabled the initiation of many projects for children and adolescents in need.

Christmas Charity 2008 - Christmas Presents for Three Children's Homes

With donations from employees at the Düsseldorf office, the Düsseldorf charity board has once more launched a successful initiative to fulfil the Christmas wishes of children living in children's homes. 250 wish lists from the Fürstin-Franziska-Christine-Foundation (Essen), the Children's Aid Centre (Düsseldorf), and the Youth Welfare Services of Catholic Women (Essen) were hung on the Christmas tree in the lobby and could be picked by all Deloitte employees. The wish lists disappeared quickly, and just before Christmas a ceremonial gift giving took place in the Düsseldorf office.

Computer Course in the Children's Home of Fürstin-Franziska-Christine-Foundation in Essen-Steele

Recently, the charity board successfully instigated a computer course for children and adolescents aged nine to fourteen during which Deloitte professionals were uncovering the "secrets" of MS-Word. Interest amongst Deloitte employees was so big that the instructors had to be selected in a ballot. After jointly preparing the materials, they succeeded familiarising the children with all important aspects of the software in a both practical and enjoyable workshop.

The Schultüten-Initiative

In late summer, the charity board plans to equip a children's home with urgently needed school supplies; the list of wishes extends from pens to paint boxes and dividers. We will provide you with updates on this initiative in due course.

Our Team at the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt

The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge is the biggest run worldwide, and GEBERA is right in the middle: nearly 70,000 runners from more than 2,000 companies compete annually on the 5.6km track through Frankfurt, Germany's financial hub. With stamina, toughness and primarily fun, we are there since 2006.
